Every product is obtained exclusively through sustainable fisheries in Maldivian waters.
Blue Liquid Group's products are obtained exclusively through sustainable fisheries, all sourced from the western Indian Ocean, FAO 51 / Maldives EEZ.
Fisheries in this region are governed by the Maldivian government's regulatory bodies, particularly under the Maldivian Fisheries Act, which prevents unsustainable fishing practices. At the core of that sustainability are the fishing methods themselves, described below.
Fish are caught one at a time using a pole and line. Only a small portion of a school is taken with this method, which negates the risk of overfishing.
A weighted line with baited hook is used to catch a single fish at a time, making this practice equally sustainable.
